Tai Poutini Polytechnic Students Association

Tai Poutini Polytechnic Students Association (TPPSA) is committed to fostering a good working relationship with Tai Poutini Polytechnic to help meet student needs around the campuses.

TPPSA has been around since 1989, and came about by way of a student referendum (sections 229B of the Education Act 1989), and was at that time a compulsory student association. Then later, in 1993 TPPSA became an Incorporated Society to better represent the interests of students. It is a not for profit organisation, governed by a constitution, which clearly sets out the rules and processes by which we operate.

The Association’s aims, in broad terms are:

Representation, Advocacy and Welfare

TPPSA is independent of Tai Poutini Polytechnic (TPP), enabling us to offer an effective student voice and confidential advocacy service, both within and beyond the Polytechnic.

Social and Recreational

Students at each of the many campuses will own the decision-making process regarding how their campus will spend their pre-set social and recreational budget.

Services

Services vary on different campuses, and may include computing resources, refreshments and information about student discounts and special events. TPPSA welcomes any suggestions about other services that would enhance student life on campus.

The Association is registered with the Charities Commission. Link to our Certificate of Registration.
